This upcoming Indian film about a man with Aspergers sounds very interesting. It stars Shahrukh as a man whose autistic behavior causes to him to be suspected of terrorism after the September 11 attack.

French politician insults British policy as "Autistic"


Apparently, "autistic" is such a common insult in France that minister Pierre Lellouche was surprised that people in England were offended when he used the word to describe a policy he finds stupid:

Time Covers "I Am Autism" Controversy


Time magazine has an article on the response that many in the autism community had to the "I Am Autism" video created by Autism Speaks:

"We don't want to be portrayed as burdens or objects of fear and pity," insists Ari Ne'eman, president of the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network, a 15-chapter group he built while attending college at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. "Apparently, should my parents divorce, it's all my fault," says Ne'eman, who received a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome, a relatively mild form of autism, at age 12.

I'm not saying Top Chef's Marcel has Asperger's . . .


But now that I know I have autism I understand why I always rooted for Marcel. He never seemed to understand why the other season two top chefs hated him so-- I know that feeling. He seemed more comfortable with things than with people-- I get that. Marcel has problems relating to other people that remind me of problems that mu autism causes me.
