James embraces his freakiness on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

It was both fascinating and inspiring to watch James Durbin appear on The Ellen Degeneneres Show.  Both James and Ellen are people who have broken down walls of bigotry.  Ellen was the star of her own very successful situation comedy when she came out as gay, and her show was canceled the next year.

James is the first star performer to be open about his neurodiversity from the very start of his career.  I think one of the reasons Adam Lambert may have said some negative things about James is that he is jealous that Durbin had the integrity to be open about who he was from the start of his American Idol, and that he was allowed to be by Fox. Adam was only able to come out as gay after losing on American Idol.
