Harvey, starring Jim Parsons, is opening tonight on Broadway (watch clips at the end of this post).  Here are some things that obsessed fans of The Big Bang Theory who don't have tickets can do to console themselves:

Watch a repeat of "The Friendship Contraction" tonight on CBS.

Debate the question: "How much further should Amy and Sheldon go?"

Have cocktails with Amy Farrah Fowler herself, actress Mayim Bialik.  It'll cost you $1000, at least, but it's for a great cause.

Mayim Bialik, now and forever!

A couple of months ago I did a piece called "Why thAutcast Loves Mayim Bialik, TV's Amy Farrah Fowler"

And now we have one more reason, since the brainy actress gave your favorite autism blog a boost by tweeting one of my many stories about her and her Big Bang Theory character.  She was talking about when Johnny Galecki (Leonard on TBBT) appeared on Blossom, the show she starred on a teenager.  And she wrote this:

It's almost like Amy Farrah Fowler knows who I am!

Mayim Bialik thinks it's important to ask ourselves whether some things are funny.

 

 

Six Reasons why I love Mayim Bialik:

1.  She thinks it's important to value girls for being smart.

Mayim is one of several celebrities (and other people with brains) who objected to JC Penny selling a shirt that said "I'm too pretty to do homework, so my brother has to do it for me."  The store has stopped selling the shirts, but Mayim brings up questions that are important to many of us in the interview above.  We need kids to be valued for being smart, not just pretty.  And we need smart girls to be valued period.

Peer pressure finally comes to Amy Farrah Fowler.

"The Zarnecki Incursion", last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory, featured one of my all-time favorite Amy Farrah Fowler scenes.  She gives in to peer pressure, gets drunk on coffee liqueur, and starts talking about flinging poop at Leonard's awful new girlfriend.

Also, because it's April Fool's Day, a clip of little Mayim Bialik in Beaches , lipsynching "The Glory of Love."
